FORENSIC MOLECULAR GENETIC EXAMINATION
⠀
Forensic molecular genetic examination is conducted to establish important evidentiary information related to the identification of a person and the establishment of biological kinship / paternity based on specialized knowledge in forensic science, molecular biology and human genetics.
This kind of research is conducted in the State Institution "Center of Forensic Expertise" of the MJ of the RK. However, today there is an alternative to conducting molecular genetic examinations in non-governmental expert institutions with the involvement of forensic experts licensed to conduct this type of activity.

THE PROCEDURE FOR APPOINTING A FORENSIC EXAMINATION
The forensic examination procedure begins with you filing a petition with the court and ends with getting the results in court. The DNA is taken strictly in the presence of the parties and the bailiff. All samples are sealed and sent to the forensic examiner. The procedure can take an average of 5 to 10 days.
THE COST OF ESTABLISHING PATERNITY FOR THE COURT
Expertise establishment of paternity | Cost (tenge) | Timeline |
Expertise establishment of paternity three samples (alleged father, child, mother) | 172 500 | 2-5 business days |
ADVANTAGES OF MOLECULAR GENETIC EXAMINATION BY A PRIVATE EXPERT
QUICKEST TERMS
- Timeframe for the study 2-5 working days
- All tests are performed in Almaty, in the laboratory of TreeGene LLP, and there is no need to send tests outside the Republic of Kazakhstan, and waste precious time on transportation!
RESULT RELIABILITY
- Genetic markers approved by world standards (CODIS loci for autosomes and SWGDAM loci for the U-chromosome) are used for the study, which allows you to compare the results of DNA analysis obtained in our laboratory and in any laboratory in the world;
- all examinations are conducted in accordance with the methods approved and accepted in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, included in the state register of forensic research methods;
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
- In the absence of close relatives, it is possible to establish a male lineage;
- In the case of a mismatch at one or two markers, additional loci are analyzed to prove the presence of a mutation or exclude paternity.
6 REASONS TO CONTACT A FORENSIC EXPERT
If the alleged father refuses to pay child support voluntarily
If a father doubts the paternity of his children
If you have a question of inheritance
If you are a victim of a sex crime (rape)
If you need to establish ethnicity (for citizenship)
If it is necessary to establish maternity / paternity for registration of the child's documents (at the birth of children did not process documents)

What is the difference between a forensic expert's opinion and a normal paternity determination result?
DETERMINATION OF PATERNITY
In civil litigation, when considering cases of divorce, alimony, paternity disputes, etc., there is quite often a need to establish true biological paternity and maternity of citizens in relation to children. Modern molecular genetic expertise allows to establish blood relationship between individuals, including paternity, with a high degree of probability - up to 99.9999%, when excluding paternity reliability of 100%.
The basis for the examination is a court ruling or decision of an investigative body. At the request of attorneys, the conclusion of a specialist is provided. In all cases, the methodology of research, execution of the conclusion, the reliability of the results obtained and the cost of research are the same.
OPTIONS FOR PATERNITY ANALYSIS
Establishment of paternity in respect of a child with an undisputed relationship to the mother
Establishing paternity for a child without the use of biological material of the mother
If biological material of the alleged father is not available for research, biological material of the alleged father's closest relatives (parents, brothers, sisters) is used.
The reliability of a positive result of a DNA paternity test reaches a value of at least 99.9% , regardless of whether or not the child's mother's biological material was used in the analysis. In the case of a negative result, paternity is completely ruled out.
WHY DO I NEED A MOTHER'S DNA SAMPLE?
According to the approved and adopted in the territory of Kazakhstan methods of "Forensic DNA examination for human identification and establishment of blood kinship based on the study of polymorphism of the length of sequences of STR-loci of nuclear DNA", which is included in the State Register of methods of forensic research, when establishing paternity it is necessary to provide biological material of the mother, child and the alleged father.
According to the laws of inheritance, only those alleles (DNA regions) found in the biological mother and the biological father should be present in the child's genome. Maternity is regarded as indisputable, so the maternal alleles are counted first. Then, the remaining alleles are compared with those of the presumed father. In the absence of either parent, the reliability of the results is reduced and can sometimes lead to an erroneous conclusion.

Note: 1) Alleles of maternal origin are highlighted in color in the genomic profile of the child. 2) Alleles in bold in the genomic profile of the child are not peculiar to the genomic profile of the presumed father, originating from another, true biological father.
CONCLUSION: a mismatch at three loci, biological paternity is excluded.
FORENSIC DNA ANALYSIS
- identify the perpetrator
- Investigate incestuous relationships
- to identify the victim of the crime;
- to identify the victims of disasters;
- High discriminatory power.
- DNA profile is constant and unchanging
- High analysis sensitivity
- Heritability
- High DNA stability
OBJECTS OF MOLECULAR GENETIC EXAMINATION
The direct object of molecular genetic research is DNA isolated from various fluids, tissues, and organs belonging to humans, for example:
blood
sperm
buccal epithelium
nails
bulbous hair
bone remains
Physical evidence with layers of substances of biological origin
Blood stains, semen, abortion material
tissue samples
ALL TESTS ARE PERFORMED AT THE TREEGENE GENETIC LABORATORY IN ALMATY.
